The Getting Court Programme

A small group of Yr11 students, who are interested in studying Law, were invited to attend the Oxford Crown Courts through the ‘Getting Court’ programme.

They were fortunate enough to watch several different cases and were invited into the  chambers for a meeting with a judge.

Their first visit, was to a courtroom, where a summation was taking place.  The students found this process very interesting. After this they attended a couple of plea hearings where the students got to see how defendants pleaded.

They ended the day with the opportunity to take part in a question-and-answer session with a judge. This was an excellent opportunity to gain a real insight into the world of law.
