All Yr 11 students are encouraged to come along to period 6 on a Tuesday & Wednesday. It is a great opportunity to get some extra work done in their chosen subjects. Last year's GCSE students have said that Period 6 and early revision was a key factor in their exam success. pic.twitter.com/uvrCRgb71v

My favorite quote from this evening “I’ve got six children and I’ve seen a lot of headteachers do these speeches, you did brilliantly!”. Thank you to the parents who came and supported the school and their child this evening. Families and schools working together!

Coaching Time

Coaching time is about fostering development, building self-esteem, and sparking individual connections. Our coaching time enables students to engage with their peers as they learn life skills to become well-rounded individuals.

Each student will be assigned to a coaching group and their coach will be the main point of contact for parents/carers for day to day issues. The coach will see their group to register at 8:30 and will pass on messages to students to help them have a well organised start to their day.

Coaches will get to know their students and families well over the five year learning journey at Aureus. They will monitor academic performance, weekly attendance, behaviour points and positive outcomes from the week. The role of the coach is to have a full picture of their coachees and to assist them to flourish in all aspects of Aureus life.

In coaching time students will carry out tasks such as completing their gratitude journals and learning about the world around them.

There will be time for each coaching group to reflect on the weekly value and the positive elements of their learning journey, providing staff and students to publicly acknowledge our community successes.

If there have been any concerns during the school day the coach is able to discuss the issue with the coachees before they go home for the weekend. Coaches will have regular contact with parents and will ask for meetings when necessary.

All coaches will use the positive coaching language to help students learn how to be self-sufficient as they make their way from Year 7 throughout the school.
