Magistrate Visit

Some of our Yr 8s and 9s have been working hard preparing for the Magistrates Mock Trial Competition.

Our local linked magistrate visited Aureus to give the students more support with the upcoming competition.

The magistrate helped our students understand the courtroom process in depth by sharing some pictures and explaining the contribution of each person within the court.  We are very excited to have offered this opportunity to our students as this contest enables them to develop public speaking, critical thinking, and forming persuasive arguments. These are skills the students learn in many lessons such as Ethics , English and History. 

We are excited that the students are now applying these to a court case!
