Bletchley Park Visit

On a very cold 1st December 2022, 35 Aureus students and 4 members of staff went to Bletchley Park as part of a school trip organised by the Maths department.

During World War II, codebreakers at Bletchley Park played a crucial role in cracking the Enigma code, this helped to shorten the war and saved countless lives.

Our students were fantastic ambassadors for the school and staff at Bletchley Park spoke highly of them. We had an opportunity to tour the site with our guide Bob. We visited Bletchley Park house and saw the huts where Alan Turing and his team built some of the first computers. We also took part in a workshop on cyber security which helped students understand the mathematics behind password security.

Many thanks to all our colleagues who helped to make the trip happen, and to the students who comported themselves admirably.
