GLF Schools was founded in 2012 in order to enable the federation of Glyn School (an academy in 2011) and Danetree Junior School. Together, we began our journey to become a MAT of more than 1000 talented staff working with over 10,000 children in 40 schools across 5 regions in southern England.

There are two choices for Media Studies starting in Year 10, either Cambridge Nationals Creative iMedia or GCSE Media Studies. 

Creative iMedia

Cambridge Nationals in Creative iMedia is designed to teach digital design skills and enable students to use digital tools to express their creativity in an informed and responsible way. This course will equip students with the knowledge, understanding and skills they need to design and make effective digital products for others to use, as well as to support their future learning and exploit the ever-growing creative digital industries. this course is fully practical on the computers.

GCSE Media

GCSE Media Studies at Aureus is run through the EDUQAS exam board, this qualification consists of coursework (NEA 30%) and two written exams (70%). This course gives students an opportunity to learn about media theories which they will use to apply to a variety of media products and texts analysing and evaluating the influence on the audience. Students will be set practical tasks which aim to develop digital editing skills so that they can begin to create their own media products.
