Headteacher's Weekly Update

Dear Families

It’s hard to believe we have been back in school just one week. The students have shown
exemplary commitment to school already and we are pleased with the excellent start to the
term.

The launch of Breakfast Club this term has been a success, with growing numbers each day. It is
a great opportunity for students to get together before the school day starts. A big thank you to
the team for making this extra provision possible for our students.

We are delighted to have welcomed Mr Hughes to our team this term. Mr Hughes is our new
Student Services and Medical Lead, meaning we are able to add to our pastoral care. Mr Hughes
is based in our new Student Reception, where students can go for any support they need during
the day, timetable concerns, medical or just general help. We are pleased to be able to add to
our pastoral offer.

We kicked off what is sure to be a fantastic term, with a Race for Life this week, raising over
£1,000 for this wonderful charity. Year 7 and 8 did us proud, whether they walked, jogged or
ran, we were so pleased with their achievements.

Sport seems to be the theme for the first week back, with Luke Matthews, international rugby
player, joining us for a training session with Year 8. He was delighted to see how enthusiastic
they all were. Apologies to all the parents who had to deal with the muddy PE kit afterwards.

A group of 30 students visited Buckinghamshire New University this week to gain practical
experience of what it is like to study performing arts at university level. As expected, our
students were exemplary, getting involved and showing enthusiasm for all the aspects of the
day. We are pleased to be showing our students what opportunities are out there after their
Aureus journey.

Mock examinations continued this week with our linguists taking a practice speaking exam. They
have shown a true commitment to their studies, and whilst there will always be parts that will
need improvement, we are pleased our students will get the correct advice moving forward.
Just a reminder that on Thursday 7th March the PCA are hosting a community quiz. Please sign
up to show your support. If you do not have enough people for a team, don't worry, we can
help.

Kind Regards

Kirsty Rogers
