Farewell to Headteacher Hannah Wilson

We have said "goodbye and thank you" to Hannah Wilson as she moves on to her new role in higher education. Her dedication has been vital in establishing the Aureus community in Great Western Park, Didcot.

Julie Hunter will be Acting Headteacher with support from GLF Executive Headship.

Hannah says: “I have really enjoyed being the founding Headteacher of the Aureus Schools as it has been an absolute privilege to work with the staff in creating a values-based school with a distinct and palpable culture and ethos. Opening a new school has indeed given us our challenges at times and I would personally like to thank all of our parents and carers for the support that they have shown us all in the last two years.

“I will miss our team, our children and our community immensely. I am very proud of everything we have achieved and of the young people we work with. I have high hopes for them all in the future. Aureus Schools will always hold a very dear place in my heart and I wish the teams at both schools the best of luck for the rest of the year and beyond.”

Dr. Bogusia Wojciechowska, Chair, Aureus Secondary School School Strategic Board, says: “When she joined the GLF Trust in 2017, Hannah embraced the challenge of leading two new schools, Aureus Secondary, which opened in September 2017, and Aureus Primary, which opened in September 2018.

“It takes a lot of vision and commitment to manage such an undertaking, but Hannah inspired the Aureus community with her energy and mission to nurture hearts and minds. Her dedication to the staff and students, her charisma, strength and empathy will be missed. However, we wish her all the best in her future endeavours.”

Aureus Secondary School will now be led by Ms Julie Hunter as Acting Headteacher with support from GLF Executive Headship.
