Welcome to Aureus School

I am immensely proud to be the Headteacher of Aureus School. I have a passion for comprehensive education and I firmly believe that every student deserves the opportunity to succeed. My approach is driven by my belief in inclusive education and centred around high expectations of all students.

As the only co-educational comprehensive school in Didcot we have a fantastic student body whose range of attributes contribute to making Aureus School a vibrant community. I have the privilege to be working with a talented, dedicated and enthusiastic staff body who are passionate about inspiring our young people every single day, enabling them to thrive.

Welcome to 'The Heart and 'Saul' of Aureus', a special event celebrating the retirement of Ms. Saul, a beloved member of the Aureus School community, who is retiring due to Multiple System Atrophy (MSA). The event will take place on Sunday, 1st March, from 2:30 PM to 4:00 PM, and will raise funds for the MSA Trust. In the lead-up to the event, Aureus Alumni students; Amelie, Holly, and Bia will embark on a self-initiated sponsored 57-mile walk from Rosebery School to Aureus, honouring Ms. Saul's dedication. To support this incredible feat, fill out Amelie, Holly & Bia’s sign-up form below: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSffcFqdrce3lTvshUnT3V_T1tBnCXSN70pXwATb0ZfbfgNd9A/viewform Families are invited to join the celebration, which includes afternoon tea and short speeches, with entry by voluntary donation. All proceeds will support the MSA Trust, and your presence would mean a lot to Ms. Saul and the students, past & present. You can donate to the MSA trust via our Just Giving page: https://www.justgiving.com/page/aureus-school-4?utm_medium=FR&utm_source=CL If you are able to attend, please complete the following form, so we are aware of numbers ahead of time, thank you: https://forms.office.com/pages/responsepage.aspx?id=A0fOQITwQUy0ICoaMUBRJ-tm6fOyMwpBo3FSzhxm--lUNUI0M0VKSUFaTjI1VlVGRkE5R0w4SkdXMy4u&route=shorturl

As you know, many schools are facing significant financial pressures. One way you can help us reduce costs—and reinvest more into enriching students’ experiences—is by downloading the MCAS app and enabling notifications. App notifications are completely free for the school, but if they are switched off we are charged for every email we send. A small change on your device makes a big difference to our budget. A full guide to using the app can be found here: https://www.aureusschool.org/926/communications

In most workplaces, individuals are expected to arrive prepared with the necessary tools to complete their tasks. By fostering this mindset early on, teachers can help students develop valuable habits that will serve them well in their future endeavors.
