Headteacher's Weekly Update
Dear Families,
What a fantastic start to the week we had with our Human Library event. A huge thank you to Miss King, who organised such a wonderfully diverse range of careers to be represented. The event gave our Year 8 and 9 students the chance to explore different career pathways, learn about the qualifications required, and gain insight into the wide variety of opportunities available to them.
This week also saw a number of our students visit Bucks New University to experience what they have to offer in the performing arts. Students watched performances, took part in practical workshops, and gained a valuable glimpse into university life. It was an inspiring experience for all involved.
We were also delighted to welcome Be Free Young Carers into school. They delivered sessions to help students understand what it means to be a young carer and to recognise whether this may apply to them or someone they know. This forms part of our new partnership with Be Free Young Carers, and we are excited about the additional support and guidance this collaboration will bring to our students.
Finally, we have been celebrating World Book Day throughout the week by sharing our favourite books. Staff have been reading short extracts, from long time favourites to the books they’re currently enjoying. This has sparked wonderful conversations and led to some fantastic recommendations being passed around the school.
