Headteacher's Weekly Update
Dear Families,
This week I had the privilege of attending a Headteacher Conference, where I spent time learning from some truly inspiring speakers and collaborating with colleagues from across the region. Although I never enjoy being away from school, I’m always reminded how important it is that everyone in education—leaders, teachers, and students—remains on a continuous learning journey. We spoke a lot about how the best teachers are those who constantly strive to improve, and how vital it is to create a culture where we can all feel proud of what we’ve achieved, yet never quite satisfied. I know we have that spirit here at Aureus School, and it’s something that makes our community so special.
Back at school, we were excited to hold our first meeting with the Football Federation regarding plans for a new 3G pitch. This is a fantastic opportunity for our students, and we are hopeful that the upcoming planning permissions and site visits will all run smoothly. We will keep you updated as this exciting project progresses.
A group of our students had a wonderful visit to Jamie’s Farm this week. They threw themselves into life on the farm, feeding and caring for the animals, learning new skills, and embracing the experience even on one of the coldest days we’ve had this year. We are incredibly proud of the way they represented our school.
Rehearsals for Aladdin continue at full speed, and the cast and crew are working so hard to make the show spectacular. Tickets are selling quickly, and there are only a few left for Wednesday’s performance, so please do book soon if you haven’t already.
We are also proud to be supporting the MSA Trust this year. Our latest fundraiser is our Christmas card project—packs of 10 cards are available for just £3, with all profits going directly to the charity. Please purchase these on ParentPay.
Finally, thank you to all the families who have already completed our parent survey. Your feedback is incredibly valuable to us. There is just one more weekend left before the survey closes, so if you haven’t had the chance yet, please do take a few minutes to share your views.
Wishing you all a restful weekend..
Kind Regards
Kirsty Rogers
