Headteacher's Weekly Update
Dear Families,
This week has been incredibly special for our school community.
On Sunday, we were honoured to take part in the local Remembrance Parade with five of our wonderful students who represented the school so beautifully. It was also lovely to see so many of our students taking part as members of the uniformed organisations. Every one of them demonstrated care, compassion, and deep respect as we remembered those who gave their lives in service to our country.
On Tuesday, our students once again made us immensely proud during our school Remembrance Service. They showed exemplary respect throughout the readings, poetry, and reflections shared by our service children and staff members. The two-minute silence was observed with great thoughtfulness and sincerity — a true reflection of the empathy and maturity shown by our students.
A special mention must go to Roy, who joined Mr Hayden for Poppies to Paddington, placing a wreath on the train to Paddington Station, where it is now displayed. What a wonderful way to represent our school and contribute to this national act of remembrance.
Earlier in the week, on Monday evening, we had the joy of celebrating the Class of 2025 at our GCSE Awards Evening, recognising outstanding achievement and attainment. It was fantastic to hear how our students are progressing in their Post-16 courses and to see them reconnect and celebrate together once again.
A heartfelt thank you to Olivia and Josh, both proud alumni of our school, who returned to share inspiring speeches about their journeys beyond Aureus. Olivia is now studying Law at the University of Bristol, and Josh is pursuing Maths, Further Maths, Physics, and Computer Science at sixth form.
Meanwhile, our Year 11 students have been working incredibly hard through their first set of mock exams. We are so proud of their focus, determination, and resilience — qualities that will undoubtedly serve them well in the months ahead.
As we come to the end of this very special week, I want to take a moment to express how proud I am of every student for the compassion, respect, and community spirit they have shown. It truly captures the heart of what makes our school so special.
Finally, a polite reminder that our stakeholder surveys are still open. We warmly encourage you to complete the survey by clicking this link by Sunday 24th November 2025.
Thank you, as always, for your continued support.
Kind Regards,
Kirsty Rogers
