Headteacher's Weekly Update
Dear Families
It is lovely to start seeing the sun more frequently. To help with the heat, we have erected some gazebos to create extra shade on the field and the students have been utilising these throughout the week.
One of the standout moments this week was undoubtedly the joint music concert with Aureus Primary and Aureus Secondary. The students were nothing short of outstanding. Watching the two choirs unite in such harmony was incredibly moving—a real celebration of collaboration, and community. A huge thank you to our music teams and all those who supported the event behind the scenes.
This week also marked a significant milestone for our Year 11 students, who completed their final exams. I couldn’t be prouder. Over the last two years, our school culture has evolved in remarkable ways, and this cohort embodies everything we value: Ambition, Resilience, and Respect. They have made us proud, and I cannot wait to see the amazing paths they take in the next chapter of their lives.
The year 10 students have also been exceptional, as they undertook their first set of mock exams. Their approach to learning and maturity have been impressive, and it’s clear we are growing another strong cohort of learners ready to step up.
In the wider community, I had the opportunity to meet with Matthew Barber, the Thames Valley Police and Crime Commissioner, this week. We had a productive discussion about how we can work in partnership to improve outcomes and opportunities not just for our students, but for our community as a whole. Collaboration beyond the school gates is key to sustained, meaningful change.
Finally, I had the absolute pleasure of joining Ms Morgado’s coaching group to release the butterflies they have been nurturing as part of our Eco Schools work. Watching the students connect with nature, understand life cycles, and take joy in setting pollinators free was both heartwarming and a powerful reminder of how our curriculum goes beyond the classroom.
Wishing you all a restful and joyful weekend.
Kind Regards
Kirsty Rogers
