Headteacher's Weekly Update

Dear Families,

This week has been a truly memorable one at school, filled with celebration, innovation, and community spirit.

We were delighted to welcome the F1 Williams Team into school as part of a STEM enrichment day for our Year 10 students. The day offered an engaging and inspiring insight into the world of Formula 1 engineering and design. Students worked collaboratively to design their own race cars, applying both technical knowledge and creativity. As part of the challenge, they also developed marketing presentations to showcase their designs, giving them a real-world opportunity to blend STEM and communication skills. It was a brilliant day that ignited curiosity and enthusiasm across the students.

Meanwhile, we marked an important milestone for our Year 11 students as they attended their final Leavers’ Assembly. It was a heartfelt occasion filled with reflection, laughter, and goodbyes. One much-loved tradition—the signing of shirts—continues, but with a modern twist. Many students arrived with shirts already transformed into stunning personalised pieces, featuring everything from animated designs to bold additions like pink fur outlines. The creativity and effort put into these designs captured the spirit and individuality of this wonderful year group.

We also had the pleasure of hosting several of our local primary schools for a rounders tournament. The visiting pupils demonstrated fantastic sportsmanship and resilience, especially in the warm weather. It was a joy to see them competing with such enthusiasm, and especially heartening to spot familiar faces from students who have attended our open mornings throughout the year.

To round off the week, our Year 11 students celebrated in style at their prom on Thursday evening. The event was a true highlight, with students arriving in a variety of impressive transport options and dressed in spectacular outfits. The atmosphere was one of celebration and joy, and it was a fitting conclusion to their time with us. We are incredibly proud of all they have achieved and look forward to seeing what the future holds for each of them.

As always, thank you to all staff, students and families who helped make this week so special.

Kind Regards

Kirsty Rogers
