Humanutopia at Aureus:Creating Heroes
Our school was buzzing when we hosted children from nearby primaries for the final session with our friends at Humanutopia.
The final visit saw guests from Year 5 join our Year 9 students for a day of Heroes sessions from the organisation that has been working with us across several weeks.
Aureus was filled with huge amounts of enthusiasm and positive energy when the younger children took part in the event, designed to empower young people to become the nurturing and compassionate young leaders of the future.
Humanutopia has been visiting our school delivering a variety of workshops designed for different year groups, and covering different aspects of dealing with life in a variety of situations.
Working in small groups, the children in the final workshop were engaged and fully immersed in the programme which had been specially designed for delivery in secondary schools, with year groups including primary-aged children.
The Year 9 students will become mentors for the new Year 7 arrivals in September and the younger cohort had the chance to be part of school life at Aureus, a different environment from their usual classrooms.
