Headteacher's Weekly Update
Dear Families,
This week has been a slightly different one for me. I spent half of the week in school as normal, and the other half speaking at the World Inclusion Congress. This was an incredible experience — being able to share our school’s story and the work we do to support all learners, while also hearing from other school leaders from across the world about their own journeys.
Education will always be a journey; there is always something new to learn. I am so proud to be travelling this path alongside our incredible staff and students, who inspire me every day.
On Monday, Friends of Aureus hosted a Brush Party, and wow — the paintings created were truly wonderful! Thank you to all the families and staff who came along to take part and raise valuable funds for the school. A special thank you to the team for their fantastic organisation and enthusiasm.
Back in school, our Year 8 students had a fantastic time taking part in the Ada Lovelace Challenge — a brilliant opportunity to develop their computing and problem-solving skills, celebrating creativity and innovation in technology.
Meanwhile, Years 7 and 8 also took part in Restart a Heart Day, learning valuable lifesaving skills that could one day make a real difference. The students approached this with great focus and maturity — a huge well done to them all.
Finally, I hope you have had a good conversation with your child’s coach this week, discussing the positive approach to learning shown in these first few weeks and any small tweaks needed to help them continue to thrive.
I’m very much looking forward to being back in school on Monday and hearing all about the week from our students.
Wishing you all a restful weekend,
Kind Regards
Kirsty Rogers
