Headteacher's Weekly Update

Dear Families,

It has been yet another busy week full of activities at Aureus! We began the week by welcoming back Justice in Motion, a professional theatre company who continue to inspire through their thought-provoking and creative work. This week, they delivered their powerful CODE project to our Year 7 students — an innovative programme that uses physical theatre, spoken word, music, and film to explore the real-world dangers of exploitation and knife crime. Their unique approach opens up challenging conversations in a way that is accessible and engaging for young people. We are proud to offer such impactful learning experiences that leave lasting impressions.

In addition to this, we hosted two brilliant Transition Days for our rising Year 7s. It was a pleasure to welcome these eager and enthusiastic students into the school community. They took part in taster lessons, explored the school site, and got a feel for the exciting journey ahead. The students conducted themselves with maturity and curiosity, and it was truly lovely to get to know each of them.

To round off the week, we held our annual Sports Day — under an impressively hot sun! Every student took part with determination and good spirit across a wide variety of events, showcasing not only athleticism but also excellent teamwork and encouragement. As always, we ended the day on a high note with our traditional staff race, much to the delight of our students!

Finally, a reminder that our School Summer Fair takes place this Saturday from 12 noon to 3pm. We would love to see as many families as possible come along to support the school. There will be a wide range of activities suitable for all ages — games, stalls, food, and entertainment for everyone to enjoy.

Wishing you all a restful weekend, and we hope to see you on Saturday!

Kind Regards

Kirsty Rogers
