Headteacher's Weekly Update

Dear Families,

What a fantastic week it has been at Aureus School! We have now received our final feedback from our recent review, and I am absolutely thrilled with the report. I couldn't be prouder to lead such a wonderful school community.

Our students have demonstrated their commitment to excellence by meeting the high standards set out this year. The team of reviewers talked of the pride the students take in being part of Aureus School, and the students' great sense of belonging.

This week our Year 9 Heroes have completed their Humanuptopia mentor training and conducted their first mentor session with Year 7. It was a joy to witness the growth of these students during this time. Their confidence increased throughout the day and they are truly understanding the positive influence they can have on the school community. A heartfelt thank you to Graham from Humanutopia for his invaluable work, and we look forward to continuing the mentoring scheme with our students.

We are also excited to announce this week the launch of our World Challenge trip to Morocco. The expedition is designed to foster leadership, resilience, teamwork, conservation and sustainability. Students who take up this exciting opportunity will walk away with so much more than just amazing memories.

Looking ahead, we are thrilled to kick off preparations for our very first summer fete. If you or anyone you know would be interested in hosting a stall on 13 July 2024, please don’t hesitate to contact Ms Costar through the school office. We are excited to be hosting a community event and would love for you to be a part of it.

In addition to this, we are seeking parents, carers and relatives to join our school’s PCA (Parent, Carer Association) to help support events like these and raise vital funds to provide opportunities for students beyond the normal curriculum. Whatever amount of time and energy you can contribute, your skills and experience will be greatly appreciated. Please reach out to Mrs Powell via the school office for more information on how you can get involved.

I hope you all have a lovely bank holiday weekend, and fingers crossed for some good weather. We look forward to welcoming students back on Tuesday.

Kind Regards

Kirsty Rogers
