Headteacher's Weekly Update

Dear Families

We have had another week of exciting events and activities, and are pleased to see the days getting lighter and lighter.

A highlight for me each term is the class singing competition, and this term's songs did not disappoint! The students of Year 7 and 8’s enthusiasm shone out and they busted some amazing dance moves as they sang their hearts out during assembly. Their energy is contagious and is a huge uplift for the whole school community.

However, our Head of Maths, Ms Robinson, might have stolen the show this week when she arrived at school on Pi day (14th March) donning her magnificent maths cape. She walked around the school in style wishing everyone she passed a happy Pi day.

We were pleased to send off almost forty students on the “Move It” Dance trip this morning. They were all extremely excited, as were the staff, to be heading off despite the early start. I look forward to hearing all about it on Monday.

Back at school we celebrated Red Nose Day with a non-uniform day, but I’m afraid I don’t have the total funds raised just yet as one of our students is baking lots of cakes to be sold on Tuesday for the cause.

A group of students showed their respect for our community this morning by volunteering to do some litter picking at the front of school. I’m pleased to see our students demonstrating one of our new core values and understanding that we have a responsibility to our surroundings.

Finally, our Year 11 Performing Arts students have been working hard on their final performances. They’ve now all been recorded ready to send off to the examiner and we cannot wait to showcase their hard work to parents next week.

Wishing you all a lovely weekend.

Kind Regards

Kirsty Rogers
