Headteacher's Weekly Update

Dear Families,

This week has marked a significant milestone for our Year 11s as they completed their first full cohort examinations in the core subjects. The revision they have been undertaking, both independently and through our structured sessions in school, has clearly paid dividends. There have been many encouraging smiles as students emerged from exam halls, recognising familiar topics and feeling reassured in their preparation.

With Paper 1 Mathematics now complete, we move into an important phase where patterns begin to emerge, allowing for informed predictions about content in Papers 2 and 3. I would strongly urge all Year 11 students to take full advantage of the targeted revision sessions being offered. Attendance at these sessions is vital, as they provide focused materials and expert guidance on the areas most likely to be assessed in the next two papers. Sustained effort and strategic preparation over the coming weeks will be key.

Our Year 10 students have also had a week to be proud of, having completed their practical mock examination in Hospitality and Catering. I had the great privilege of visiting the kitchen during their assessment and was thoroughly impressed by the professionalism, teamwork and skill on display. The standard of cooking was exceptional, and I was delighted to be invited to sample a beautifully prepared three-course meal at the end of the session. Experiences such as these highlight not only the ambition of our students but also the dedication of staff in providing such rich and meaningful learning opportunities.

In addition, I spent time this week in the Art department, where I had the pleasure of reviewing a range of outstanding student work. The creativity, technical skill and individuality evident in each piece were truly inspiring. We are immensely proud of what our students are achieving, and this is testament to both their commitment and the expertise of our teaching staff who nurture and guide them so effectively.

Finally, I was fortunate to be invited to listen to one of our choir students performing a solo they have been developing. It was a wonderful reminder of the breadth of our personal development time within our school community. Watching our young people grow in confidence and express themselves so fully through their passions is one of the greatest privileges of my role.

As always, thank you for your continued support. Together, we are enabling our students not only to succeed academically, but to thrive as confident individuals.

Kind regards,

Kirsty Rogers
Headteacher
