Headteachers Weekly Update
Dear Families,
What a wonderful return to school it has been!
During our INSET day, we had the opportunity to come together once again to celebrate the fantastic achievements of our Year 11 students and their excellent examination results. We also spent time reflecting on the year ahead and discussing how we can continue to make Aureus an even better school for all our students.
Our new Year 7 students joined us for their first day this week, and they have been incredible. They have already begun forming new friendships, learning the routines that will help them be successful, and embracing the challenges of secondary school with remarkable resilience. We have been so impressed with the positivity and determination they have shown as they begin this exciting new chapter.
It has also been a pleasure to welcome back the rest of the school. Students have returned exceptionally well, demonstrating pride in their school through their presentation and readiness to learn. There is always something noticeable about September; somehow, over the summer holidays, our young people seem to grow up just that little bit more. It has been lovely to see them back, reconnecting with friends and engaging so positively with school life.
A Few Things to Note
New Catering Menus
Our new catering menus are now available on the school website. We are delighted to have welcomed a new catering team, and the food has received very positive feedback from both students and staff.
As students are still becoming familiar with the new menu options, they are taking a little longer than usual to make their selections, which is leading to longer queues at lunchtime. To help us serve students more efficiently, please could you encourage your child to review the menu before coming to school next week.
Friends of Aureus Brush Party
We are delighted that the Friends of Aureus Brush Party takes place on Saturday, 26 September at 6pm. This promises to be a fantastic community event and a wonderful opportunity to get together while creating something special.
Places are limited, so please book by Friday, 11th September to avoid disappointment.
