Headteacher's Weekly Update

Dear Families,

What a wonderful week it has been. With the weather getting warmer and the days growing brighter, it has been a joy to see so many students on the field during social times, making the most of the sunshine and enjoying being outdoors together. As the weather continues to improve, please remember to send your child in with a water bottle to ensure they stay hydrated throughout the day.

We have also been delighted to see our students sailing again. It has been fantastic to watch them step outside their comfort zones, challenge themselves, and grow in confidence. We are incredibly proud of all the students involved and the resilience and determination they are showing.

Year 9 had a visit to Bletchley Park on Thursday, and they were a real credit to the school. They were highly engaged throughout the day, asking insightful and thoughtful questions. It is such a valuable opportunity to bring together learning from maths, computing, and history in such an inspiring setting.

Our Year 9s also set off on their Duke of Edinburgh expedition today. Groups departed one by one this morning, full of excitement and determination, and I am very much looking forward to meeting them at the campsite later this evening. Do remember to follow our DofE Instagram account to see updates and photos of how they are getting on.

Looking ahead, next week marks the beginning of the GCSE examination season, starting with MFL speaking exams and the Art GCSE final piece. We wish all of our Year 11 students the very best of luck. We are immensely proud of the commitment, hard work, and dedication they have shown in preparing for this important time.

As always, thank you for your continued support, and I hope you all have a restful and enjoyable weekend.

Kind regards,

Kirsty Rogers
Headteacher
